Frequently Asked Questions

Greetings, and thank you for expressing an interest in having your tattoo done at True Gloom Tattoo. We are so grateful for each and everyone of you for your constant support and kindness, with that being said, we would also like to explain our booking process for appointment requests. Here are some helpful FAQ'S to answer some questions!

  • For your appointment, a valid Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport is required. We do not tattoo clients under the age of 18.
  • Emails are checked once per week, for a faster response or inquiry on a walk-in please call the studio.
  • Shop minimum is $125
  • Touch up's are free unless it's a finger tattoo, in most cases we will not tattoo them.
  • The hourly rate is between $150-$175. Half and full day rates are at the artist's disgression.
  • A $50-$100 deposit is due at the time of booking. This deposit does go towards the total cost of your tattoo.
  • Please be mindful that some artists are no longer taking on cover-up requests.
  • Under no circumstances are children under 18 allowed in the tattoo areas this includes infants and toddlers. Please make alternative arrangements for your children.
  • We reserve the right to cancel your appointment(s) if you are more than 15 minutes late.
  • Drawings of tattoos will be shared on the day of your appointment.
  • We will not and do not feel comfortable altering other artists’ work. We will not "touch up" or "finish" a tattoo done by another artist.
  • If you personally cannot make it to your appointment, you can not give your appointment to someone else. We have a long list of people waiting for a spot to open up. We are more than happy to add you to our on-call list or reschedule if our books are open. Please note you will need to pay an additional deposit fee of $100. All deposits are non-refundable.
  • Please do NOT pay in full for your tattoo when paying your deposit.

Our studio minimum is $125, and our artists hourlys are between $150-$175 per hour. Half day and full day rates can be discussed durring your consultation. 

Cash is 100% preferred. You can also use a credit, debit or Apple Pay.

 

Deposits can vary from $50-$100 and are non-refundable.

All bookings are handled through the artists personal emails. If you're looking for a walk-in this is dependent only on if we have time the day of. There is no gaurentee we can accomadate you same day.

WE WILL NOT TAKE THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF APPOINTMENTS FOR SAME DAY

  • Cover-ups
  • Portraits
  • Half/Full sleeves 
  • Hands/Neck/Face

PLEASE BE PATIENT WHEN EMAILING, IF YOU DO NOT HEAR BACK FROM AN ARTIST WITHIN A WEEK; EMAIL AGAIN OR STOP BY THE STUDIO.

Our books open and close monthly, and typically we wish to book one month at a time only. If you are trying to align your appointment with travel dates or studio guest artists- please send your email request at one or two months prior (for example send your e-mail before August if you wish to be tattooed in September). 

THE DAY BEFORE

Please ensure you're well hydrated and eating regularly the day before. Snacks and drinks will be provided upon your visit, but feel free to bring your own. No tanning, weight training, excessive drinking the night before.

THE DAY OF

Snacks and drinks will be provided durring your appointment, but feel free to bring your own. No weight training or extreme sports due to swelling and possible exposure to bacteria when sweating. No swimming, hot tubs or baths. If you do choose to bring support, keep it to 1 person. Please bring your government issued photo ID or passport.

This will also be emailed to you after completing your paperwork as well as given to you with an aftercare package at the end of your appointment.  If you ever have any questions, feel free to contact us. 

We do not offer returns or refunds in store or online. We are not liable for items damaged or lost by post. However, if you are unsatisfied with your purchase, please email us at truegloomtattoo@gmail.com within 48 hours of receiving your order. We will do our best to understand that circumstances come up and accommodate you accordingly.

Yes! But please do not bring in items to sell without first chatting with us first. Our employees do not have the ability to make shop purchases without one of the owners appraising the piece(s) in person. Please email us first truegloomtattoo@gmail.com
